The Denver Office of Economic Development provides assistance to businesses that are hiring, training and retaining new and existing employees. Building and running a business is more than a full-time job. Whether your firm is a start-up with just a few employees or a large corporate operation with thousands of professionals on your payroll, the Office of Economic Development can help with the critical business of finding, placing, training and retaining your most valuable asset-your people. Grant monies are currently available for hiring and training purposes.

Small Business Loans
Whether you are an entrepreneur wanting to start a business, an existing business planning to grow, or you are thinking about Denver as a great location for expansion or relocation, the Office of Economic Development (OED) can help. The Denver OED provides a host of services including assistance with financing to grow business. Tax Credits
The city of Denver offers business owners 2 tax credits:
Denver Enterprise Zone:
A State of Colorado tax credit program allows businesses located within a specific geographic area to receive tax credits against their state tax liability. Businesses that move to or expand in the Denver Enterprise Zone have the potential to save on their Colorado business income taxes each year. Denver’s Zone includes over 30 square miles of most of Denver’s commercially zoned real estate.
- Business MUST pre-certify EVERY year before engaging in any activity that is eligible for credits

Business Investment Program:
A business personal property tax credit offered through the newly established Business Investment Program, designed to encourage business start-ups and reward existing businesses of all sizes that expand their operations here in Denver. This program incentivizes qualified businesses to expand their facilities, add new employees, and buy new equipment. Click here for more information and an online application.
