Forms2Share—Law Practice Management Forms on the CBA Website

by Tali Thomason on February 17, 2015

Free and Organized by Category!

The Colorado Bar Association and the Mile High Chapter of Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) have officially launched the new Forms2Share project. What is Forms2Share? It is a collection of law practice management forms that have been submitted by individual CBA attorney members and law firms.  The database will include forms related to managing a firm, not substantive law.

All those who donate a document between now and March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day), will be added to a drawing for two $25 Amazon gift cards. Each document you submit will give you an additional chance to win!

The Mile High ALA Bar Liaison Committee is working with the CBA to develop the forms database.   Forms in any category are welcome at any time – review forms, moving checklists, attorney independent contractor forms, event planning guidelines, employee reward program structure….   Anything at all!  When you create or use a form you think would be helpful to others, consider sharing it through the Forms2Share database by simply emailing it to  forms2share@cobar.org!  This email box is ONLY checked by me and Sue Bertram, the Project Coordinator for the Law Practice Management Department. Similarly, if you send a template/form/document in response to a request from someone else, please consider also sending a copy via the same email to forms2share@cobar.org

Forms and policies will be available on the CBA website, organized by category, at www.cobar.org/forms2share. The CBA will not identify any lawyer, firm, administrator, or source by name, and unless requested otherwise, identifying information will be redacted or deleted. Additionally, all non-Excel documents will be converted by the CBA to a PDF format and scrubbed for metadata before posting. Excel documents which contain formulas are the only documents that will be posted in their native format. The reason for this is there is very little value if the formulas are not included. The CBA will scrub any Excel documents which are submitted.

This program is voluntary, and the sender of the forms which are posted will remain anonymous.  We hope you will help the CBA and ALA provide a great benefit to CBA and ALA members by contributing forms when you can.  The CBA will accept any law practice management forms in any category at any time. We will also periodically prompt for specific forms as well.

Because many of us are in review season now or in the near future, we will begin by asking for contributions of performance review forms.  Please email any contributions to forms2share@cobar.org.
