One of the benefits of an Office 365 subscription is always having the latest versions of your Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. But do you really have the latest versions?

Not necessarily. When Office 365 is installed, it is set by default to the semi-annual update channel. You receive updates every six months. However, Microsoft releases monthly bug fix and feature updates to Office 365. If you want the “latest and greatest” versions of your Office 365 applications, switch to the monthly update channel. Fortunately, doing so is easy. The instructions are found here.

We recommend you download and run the “easy fix” rather than attempt to edit the Windows Registry. Registry edits are potentially dangerous and a mistake can disable your PC.
